[Music] So, you've made the commitment to deliver the buy at 23 and A2 and you're hoping you're hoping that nothing will delay your order to the floor, that it won't get misered or hung up in the company's communication. chain in essence that the price won't change before the deal goes through. The brokerage business has sought constantly for new communication systems to cut the time lapse between order and execution. It's been a real problem and often an expensive one. But now there's a happier side. [Music] Tell user, Astrodata, new names perhaps, but we do have some answers to the communications problems of the brokerage business. This film is to introduce ourselves and some of our work. First of all, we are an international communications organization with foreign sales offices in major cities in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and North and South America. PI Limited, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, is our exclusive distributor in Great Britain, and certain other markets. Our manufacturing facilities in the states of California, Texas, and New York have successfully completed more installations of solidstate computerc controlled switching systems than any other company in the world. We have over 12,000 lines of computer control TX systems operating in the international environment. In fact, Astroata systems handle almost 80% of the total international TX traffic of the United States. To meet a growing demand for our products, an additional European manufacturing facility is projected in the near future for the common market. In the past, Astrodata undertook many complex projects requiring computer control, built data analysis systems for Boeing and Lockheed, made high energy physics analysis equipment for a group of universities headed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. NASA and the US military were other satisfied customers and there were many more. Beginning in New York in 1966, all of our skills and experience were assembled together to solve the needs of the communications industry and based on our satisfied customers, we intend to stay in this field. Here, Astrodata has installed the world's largest computercont controlled TX switching center made up of $10 million worth of solidstate switching systems that enable domestic subscribers to place and receive international TX traffic. Nearby is RCA Global Communications Incorporated, where another $10 million solid state central processing unit automates the international call connection sequence. This Astro Data product accepts a call, stores it, selects a trunk via radio, satellite, or cable, and sets up the connection, all without the aid of an operator. Capable of handling thousands of customers, it's the largest TX switch in the world, controlled by a single set of computers. What does it all add up to? The culmination of all our technology. Our third generation model 4660 TX switching system currently being marketed to companies or nations who need a modern communication system for national or international use. [Music] The Canadian National and Canadian Pacific companies operate to name a few the Canadian National Railroads, Airlines and Telecommunications. They will use the 4660 to make Canadian TLEX, Canadian data TX, and the US Twix systems compatible. On the international scene, through the PI representatives, we've contracted to build a multi-million dollar TX switch for the British post office. This giant organization controls telephone, TX, and data systems in the United Kingdom and will use the 4660 for domestic and international switching. The typical corporation communications network is a combination of differing carriers and differing terminals that tend to be incompatible requiring manual assistance. [Music] Teles switcher's area of activity has been message switching telecommunication systems for private companies. We filled the gap between the small, noisy, limited electromechanical solution and the unnecessarily complex large computers that handle communications with much wasted capacity. We did it with an electronic computer controlled switch that accepts and properly roots all message traffic in the network. We see ourselves as problem solvers and we design and manufacture the solutions. Our own mini computer has proved perfect for this requirement and we bring in components whatever will best serve the user. The guiding factor in this process is that the customer's needs must be met and that the method of implementation is in keeping with Astro Data's policy of quality. Before we go any further, let us tell you about our switches. They establish traffic priorities between ordinary and urgent messages. You get maximum use of telephone lines with the store and forward feature plus a capability to use watts lines or the dial network in the most economical way. Also provided is a record to management of all network traffic for monitoring accounting andformational purposes. And as for the corporation data processing department and its computers, Teleswitcher can provide an orderly access route for that traffic too. A neat package. We think so and so do our customers. We'd like to tell you about a few. There's a lot more to American Can than cans. This highly diversified company is into plastic and paper containers, printing, and other fields. Our teles switcher unit was part of a general upgrading of the telecommunications net in which American moved up from a telegraph grade to a voice grade facility. The teles switcher coordinates a variety of networks and eliminated a wasteful larger computer.
