The Shield

Tells of the overwhelming influence of the pre - Cambrian Sheild on the Canadian way of life. Describes how the meager provisions of the rocky terrain have squeezed the North American population south. Only nomadic people and nomadic - like traders and trappers have been able to eke out a living in this cold and harsh land.
