Description: This raw footage, shot for the documentary Galveston: The Gilded Age of the Golden Isle, captures a pair of corner stores in Galveston: Jules’ Food Market and the S. Tropea Food Store. Much of the footage, including the interviews with the stores’ proprietors, did not appear in the finished film. The documentary was directed by University of Houston alumnus Robert Cozens for KUHT, Houston’s PBS affiliate. The completed film was broadcast nationally on PBS on June 24, 1977.
