Description: Starring Paul Newman, Edward G. Robinson, and Elke Sommer. Directed by Mark Robson. Based on a novel by Irving Wallace. Newman is an alcoholic author who accepts the Nobel Prize only for financial reasons. During a speech he offhandedly concocts a plot for a detective novel which centers on the kidnapping of one of the Prize recipients. When it turns out that the Russians have set this plot in action, Newman must rescue the kidnapped physicist.
