These include neutralism, the quest for racial equality, religion as a unifying or dividing factor, the planned socialistic economy, and Westernization in its various manifestations. How can democracy export its ideas and ideals to countries that have little background and experience in democratic methods? This is the great problem of communication, concludes Stoessinger.
