Shows several animal experiments conducted by noted scientists which furthered knowledge of the nerve impulse and its transmission. Demonstrates with animals, oscilloscope, and the electron microscope the "all or nothing" firing of the neurons, the properties of acetylcholine in the transmitting of messages, and the relationship of nerve fibers to one another. Describes the work of Luigi Galvani, Emil Dubois-Reymond, Hermann Von Helmholtz, Julius Bernstein, A. L. Hodgkin and Andrew Huxley, S. Ramon y Cajal, and Otto Loewi.
