Theodore plays all five main characters in his first film, an expressionistic horror vignette. A visitor to the sinister Midnight Cafe, a cabaret in the old part of Vienna, falls prey to the machinations of the macabre habitués and hallucinations from a plate of poisonous mushrooms.
