The Little Match Girl

Portrays, through animation, Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale of a young girl's tragic encounter with people's selfishness. Tells how the match girl is unable to sell her basket of matchsticks on Christmas Eve and she is left out in the cold. Observes as she lights the matches one by one to keep warm and envisions her grandmother, whom she longs to be with. Shows that, early the next morning, the little girl is found lying in the snow.
