Description: Presents rare footage of the 17,000 year old paintings on the walls of Lascaux Cave taken before the cave was closed to the public and arranged as if one were actually touring its galleries. Introduces current archeological interpretations of the prehistoric people who painted the walls, portraying how they lived in caves along the Vezere River and hunted and foraged for food on its banks and surrounding woodlands. Tells how the painters lit the caves and reached seemingly inaccessible locations, and what kind of tools, materials and techniques they used in their art.
