and Saints Warriors and Craftsmen have contributed to that history which still lives in its stately buildings Cathedrals and monuments at the head of the street stands a magnificent Monument to Daniel oconnell the great Irish Liberator nearby is one of Dublin's most imposing buildings the old house of parliament now the Bank of Ireland another handsome Monument has been erected in honor of Charles Stewart Parnell famous parliamentary leader the National University is one of Dublin's two university colleges the 18th century Four Courts houses the Department of Justice also along the river liy stands the custom house often the scene of conflict in Ireland stormy political life the St Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin is a great occasion as you may well imagine it never fails to call out eron's finest for the marching and revie in a land where parades are always popular and none is more popular not only in Ireland but of keen interest throughout the world than the Irish Hospital sweep Stakes
