The Inheritance

Uses newsreels, still photographs, and silent film shots in illustrating the history of the American labor movement for the past 50 years. Highlights visual presentation with tunes and popular songs of that historical period. Emphasizes that each generation must fight for its rights., Presents a view of America as seen through the eyes of its working people. Uses still photographs, as well as silent film and newsreel footage, accompanied by folk songs and popular music, to show conditions since 1900 as found in the sweatshops, coal mines, and weaving mills, and as evidenced in the labor struggles of the thirties and the civil rights movement of the sixties.
