Description: "Why kill?" is the theme of this film which takes place in the unspoiled landscape of the Ozarks. A boy gets a BB gun for his birthday. He plays with it innocently at first but then takes it hunting and kills a bird. When he realizes what he has done he is overwhelmed by grief. No narration., Depicts, without narration, a young boy's joy at, and the consequences of, his receiving a BB gun for his birthday. Traces the day's adventures as the boy romps through the countryside, practicing with his new gift and eyeing a bird perched on the bough of a tree. Shows the boy shooting the bird, realizing that he has killed a living thing, and becoming overwhelmed with grief.
