[Music] watching this jet clipper come into Honolulu I'm as excited as a bridegroom at the altar I feel this typical Hawaiian reception is especially for my wife who's getting off the plane I got here first on a special job in the new state and I sent for her I'll never forget how she looked forward to this vacation it's really a second honeymoon for us I promise to take you to the most wonderful places on earth [Music] there it is Honolulu the most exotic city in the USA no sense being on the outside looking in we go native and shopping is fun in itself if I can take her in this creation it must be love my wife says the Aloha shirt not only reflects the perfect weather here but the friendliness and gaiety of the Hawaiian people but here's where I make her side hibiscus and orchids it's like a flower show going on everywhere you look I can buy these orchids for my wife and a dime store [Applause] food departments where I shine follows great native dishes eating out in the open on the side of the pool where it's springtime the whole year round pineapple and papaya hmm there are some ways to spend a vacation relaxation and recreation the movies were right this is the Isle of romance about now I'm wondering if this change of pace our new state gives us isn't just what the doctor ordered pretty scenery all around I know she has a good time there's so much going on Oh run boy let now ride it out if you can [Music] I told the wife malihinis are over on the beach and she's dying for a look at them but she says not funny when I tell her malihinis mean Newcomb is like us this little fellas more like the natives though learning to swim before he walks [Music] Hawaiian's have to be expert swimmers there at national pastime is surfboarding but it can also be fun for beginners the waters gentle enough for a small aki-nee's well almost gentle off the famous Waikiki Beach that they write songs and books about suddenly we're taking lessons too there's Diamondhead in the background to learn how to surfboard would go out about an eighth of a mile and try to pick the right wave at the right tilt then it's the ride of your life [Music] another variation of the same kind of thrill surfboarding the fun-loving waves of the Hawaiians are contagious and pretty soon we tourists are trying everything [Music] in the twin hold catamaran can sail around all of the eight major islands [Music] maybe it's the island magic but she never looked more beautiful I'll never forget this picture of her asleep it must be catching Bardeen would be catching anything at those lines are left unattended what a way to fish sleep till somebody else sees your strike well he can move and this is the time when there's a big one on the hook [Music] this kind of action generates excitement with us we get some great catches around here even bigger ones get away [Music] you know size doesn't count that's my speed the catch is no bigger innovate it doesn't matter how long you've been married you feel younge a peaceful park like this I know my bride feels so young she puts a flower on a left ear like a single girl you right about now we know something's about to happen the sound in the air [Music] it's a luau that grandest beast will ever see roast pig and it's coming up and real elaborate style more than just a feasts it'll be a festival with singing and dancing even the preparation as a performance now they lower the kalua pig into the EMU the Hawaiian ground oven [Music] in the ancient tradition the Hawaiian show us how to dine like kings with entertainment to common eyes with appetite with everything from the native dish poi do the native dance the hula [Music] yeah we don't sit still long off to the neighboring Hawaiian Islands [Applause] here on the Island of Hawaii their legend says that peoole goddess of volcanoes is still building this paradise by pushing up mountains through the ocean floor people respect the power of Palin but have learned to live near her with safety here pili played a trick on Mother Nature pain to this political Beach flat it's lava but it feels just as fine as white sand [Music] moving through acres of lava formations to edge closer to mount Aloha must active volcano in the world and suddenly the shock of an actual eruption a show of fire and violence unmatched by man of pure spectacles [Music] this is what created the Hawaiian Paradise starting ten million years ago it's an exciting addition to the picture of America a solemn ceremony at sundown closes our second honeymoon a fitting mood for a sentimental goodbye we won't forget the island influence the happiness the friendliness the fun the excitement my wife says it's beauty peace and romance for both of us the Hawaiian holiday is the highlight of our life together and we relive it every time we see a beautiful sunset you
