Description: Covers the period between Lenin's seizure of power and his death in 1924. Analyzes Lenin's peace treaty with Germany. Describes the reasons for the opposition to it which brought Russia to the verge of another civil war. Explains how chaos was prevented by the intervention of Herbert Hoover's American Relief Association. Shows the gradual steps in Stalin's rise to power, newsreel footage of the death and burial of Lenin, leaving the future government of Russia to the conflict between Trotsky and Stalin.
