white i' never seen white a washes I said oh he was so interesting Dred my he must be romantic oh oh he is you know he asked if that pink flower dress I was wearing was new it looked so pretty and bright I said oh no no I dozed it lots of times I told him does it safer for the pretty colors I was and yet it can't be beat for the tough job and that's when he popped the question you mean he Goldberg how you could treat your neighbors that way but Bruce the the money I had money is only part of it money is always only part of it maybe the money meant a lot to those two cheap Crooks but it didn't mean that to us we gave the money to help those children all right the money merely meant that we wanted to help it meant we were feeling we should help it was something we had a feeling neighbors sitting around together speaking from their hearts and feeling to help and we gave our money and that cheap crook got up in front of us at George and grace too and they made pretty speeches how we should help and they put it over on us and all the while well Mrs Goldberg this is a part I don't get you knew what these people were you knew they came here to fool you and you let them put it over on your neighbors well she wanted to help so she picked between them two cheap Crooks and her neighbors who trusted her why didn't she fool them two Crooks instead and then let us know why did she make fools out of us and how feel I guess you were thinking a little too hard about saving a couple of trees Mrs Goldberg while the whole Forest burned down but Bruce you know I I don't like to be preaching you know how much confidence I have in you Mrs Goldberg but it seems to me it's it's a pretty common disease in the world people wanting to do something maybe something they figure is good so they go out and start doing it and never ask what their neighbors think even though the neighbors are going to be the ones affected it's private action when it should be public I get to figure sometimes that this war is being fought by the people who believe in doing things with and through their neighbors in a democratic way against those people who want to put things over on the people around them I'm I'm not saying you did as much wrong as that I know you tried to do right but but look what happened happened you acted on your own and now you were wrong you have to share the blame with no one only yourself and we feel wronged and hurt I don't think you were so wise not at all but Bruce oh don't matter anymore but won't be the same I guess when a person loses Faith with his neighbors well guess we ought to be going now well I'll wait out in the car for you until you're ready Mrs Goldberg you that's what I wanted to say only I didn't had the voice as she listens to her best friend in lenbury to the strongest and most understanding man in town Molly begins to doubt herself she and the rest of the Goldbergs can just about imagine what the other neighbors will say you know trying to be helpful can lead to trouble then again things just sort of seem to work out okay for instance take young Dicky doam yesterday he rushed out of the house with a box of dck and he said I got to get this doz over to Billy oh why we're playing hide and seek Billy hides in the cin and gets his slacks all black then he hides in his Mar's Clothes Closet that gets cold dust all over her
