Description: Young Emily Dunning falls in love with Dr. Marie Yeomans at the start of the century in New York. The film is set in the early years of the 20th century and is set against the backdrop of an epidemic of typhoid disease in the city. Emily is so impressed that she decides to enroll in med school at Cornell. Ben Barringer is one of the few there who encourages Emily, and they fall in love.
