Description: This home movie from the Hunt Family Collection documents life on E.M. Hunt's Rancho Feliz in Berino, New Mexico, located just northwest of El Paso on the New Mexican side of the Texas-New Mexico border. Featured are the operations and activities of a working farm and ranch in the southwestern United States in the 1940s. Activities captured in the collection include the raising and harvesting of crops, especially pima cotton, and the rearing and maintenance of livestock, especially cattle, horses, and fowl. Often tractors and other farm machinery are used, but many of the farm chores are carried out by horse-drawn equipment. This film includes a view of the ranch house and grounds, a trail ride possibly through the streets of El Paso, a livestock show and rodeo, documentation of the farm's various crop fields, and a cemetery visit.
