The Empire strikes back

This second film in the Star wars trilogy features Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia as they continue their heroic struggle against the evil Darth Vader and his dreaded imperial forces. The rebel forces are amassed on the ice planet Hoth when Vader sends his troops in a dastardly plan to conquer the universe. The final showdown features a laser duel between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Th film, like its companion pieces, is noteworthy for its special effects, including galactic shootouts, aerial dogfights and huge mechanical devices. (Does not circulate)

Three years after the destruction of the Death Star, the Rebel Alliance has been driven from their former base on Yavin IV by the Galactic Empire. The rebels, led by Princess Leia, have set up a new base on the ice planet Hoth. Luke Skywalker is captured by a wampa while investigating one such probe, but he manages to escape from the wampa's cave with his lightsaber. The spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi instructs Luke to go to the Dagobah system to train under Jedi Master Yoda.
