The Dream That Changed The Desert

Begins with the vision of one man, a vision which was lost in the gold-fever which gripped California in the mid-nineteenth century. Explains that a young doctor serving as a U S government Indian agent foresaw that what is now California's Imperial Valley could become a rich agricultural area, but that not until the twentieth century were his far-sighted plans to become a reality. Traces the development of the Imperial Valley.
