Description: Teaching Film Custodians classroom film of excerpts from the 1959 feature film, "The Devil's Disciple", based on George Bernard Shaw's satire on the American Revolution. This film presents the court-martial scene (from Act III) in which ne'er-do-well Dick Dudgeon, impersonating the Reverend Anthony Anderson, is tried on charges of treason, mocks the hollow formalities of the proceedings and wins the respect of British commander General Burgoyne, who reluctantly explains that the verdict of execution is mandatory.
