The Desegregated Decade

Dr St Clair Drake surveys the progress during the ten year period which began in 1945 with the decision of the NAACP to launch an all- out attack on racial segregation in every aspect of American life. He discusses the contribution of President Truman and W E B Dubois, the impact of Supreme Court decisions, the breakdown of racial barriers in sports and the desegregation of the Armed Forces.
