walk properly that's why well was we to know I mean it was getting dark we couldn't see him properly well look you better get on your way cuz you must be late for whatever you're going to do anyway yeah he's right you coming or not the girls are going to create blue murder that's too bad got broken I'm sorry I look for piz stop saying you're sorry hey why don't we take him along with us yeah why not you can have a coffee or something you can take him home later yeah come on [Music] in I didn't know know I didn't know know I did you were waiting there for me you were there but I watch the blind to see blind to see now I know right together we can't be we can't be then we met and my eyes were open wide open wide and I saw that I had not really tried no no no I realiz real I [Music] realiz [Music] IA finish those boys keeping us hanging about here oh come on I'll fed up with this I get me [Music] hand on the shoulders block wow who's that pleas such me this is and hello you boys been we been wasting half the evening down here you sorry we ran into the mag [Applause] ran what you bring in here for why shouldn't he come in do seem right listen he's a good blow he's all right and I see that I love now I now I know now I know now I know now I know yeah now I know now I know now I know you felt the same as [Music] [Applause] me Dave how about some nice Slow Blues sure what would you like your friends are right bad time too that I don't know but that I like [Music] I if yours is a grer school means you take GCE that's sorry gr school I didn't know Del was a gr school oh terryon and me are doing a levels this [Music] year I know these intellectual he won't have any fun with them oh just a minute let's I'm sorry I didn't realize oh that's all right don't worry about it's the nicest compliment I've ever had yeah come on sit down come on just max was telling us about the delaro school that's where he goes I didn't know you did GC I always thought that spastics had something wrong with their brains and that you're quite right only it's not what you think take me for instance my legs don't work properly I didn't even start to walk till I was 13 but that doesn't mean to say I'm not going to do my GCE but then I'm one of the lucky ones because at my school we're only physically handicapped and not like a few spastics handicapped mentally as well it's much much harder for some of the others yeah but the way you are you could go to an ordinary school well it's not quite as simple as that because if I hadn't had the treatment that I got there I couldn't be what I am now and that goes for all the as well there's seven of us in our class now the brightest girl in the class is an she's never going to get out of her wheelchair and one of her hands isn't too good all the same in spite of her handicap she's a very keen swimmer and one of the best in the school she's halfway through her a levels and when she's finished she's off to University to get a languages degree she wants to come back to Delo to teach Tony wants to be an engineer which is a bit difficult for him you see he's naturally right-handed but that's the one that's affected so he's had to learn to work with his left now he's decided he wants to play a guitar and he's a good enough woodworker to be able to build it on his own by the way he and a Chum bought a couple of capped out motorbikes and turned them into a very fair machine when we have a social Maya does all the refreshments for us she's a very good cook mind you she won't stand any nonsense from anybody her right hand's not so hot but she's got a very good left whenever you see Margaret you'll see Mike they've been going stady for quite a while Mike's taking a commercial course and when it's finished may be you'll be able to get a job at least that's what they're both hoping Margaret can't speak very well she can't use her hands and she can't walk but she's got her a levels in English and French so you see she's really a very intelligent girl it seems ridiculous to think that a few years ago nothing was done at all for people like us somebody like Margaret could have been sent to a mental home whereas at least now as far as our handicaps will allow we've got a chance it's a funny thing all these years the school's been here and we've never met any of with me it's only my legs that are affected they're not that different from us are they they've just got it tougher that's all do anything for themselves I wonder if I can do anything with spastics from my D chance to develop their minds and a chance he's smashing isn't he well I've got to go now thanks very much for the evening enjoyed it along oh great right I'll run you back see you [Music] later sure we all right then yeah sure thanks a lot for the list look Max now we made contact we ought to keep in touch well I'll be here you know where I am all right I see you see you now I know now I know now I know now I know now I know yeah now I know you thought the same as me now we've met and my eyes are open wide open wide and it's Cain that I had not realized no no no no it's clear to see clear to see it's clear to see yeah yeah it's clear to see you are the same as [Music] me
