Tour of the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company’s steel mill in Pueblo, Colorado. The film documents the steelmaking process, including coke preparation, blast furnace operation, and the making of steel rail and wire, and shows the mill, administrative building, company store, medical dispensary, and hospital. Appearing is Jesse Welborn, company president when the CF&I suppressed the coal strike of 1913–14 that led to the infamous Ludlow Massacre. note: Built in 1882, the plant was at one time the largest integrated steelmaking operation west of the Mississippi.
