Description: One in a series of four IUAVC films documenting theatre arts, this film demonstrates the proper blend of speech and body training which leads to effective use of the voice in theatre. Shows theatre students performing exercises designed to develop a sense of proper body alignment; foster efficient breathing, emphasizing the abdominal muscles and the diaphragm; and refine coordination of movement and voice. Uses models, animation, and cine-fluoroscopy to record the internal physiological reactions of the upper torso during both proper and improper breathing.
