Description: This Academy Award-winning short subject transfers Gogol's story to the Jewish neighborhood of London's East End. Fender, a frail, elderly clerk for a clothing manufacturer asks his boss for a sheepskin coat to ease the chill of the warehouse where he works. When his request is refused, Fender's friend Morry, a poor tailor, offers to make him a coat at cost. Fender dies before the overcoat is completed. Returning from the dead, Fender visits Morry, and together, they exact a just revenge on the uncompassionate employer.
