Description: Presents the life and art of the 19th century American artist, Winslow Homer. Uses narration and examples of Homer's drawings to tell the story of how his career began as a free-lance illustrator at the age of 21 and how it expanded through his move to New York City, occasional trips to Europe, and through his life and painting of the Atlantic coast in Maine. Describes some of the myths and gossip which developed concerning the reclusive Homer, who remained single until his death at 74 in September of 1910.
