Missionaries, laymen, priests and government officials discuss Christian responsibility in the area of social concerns. The film presents a conception of the theology of liberation which has had a significant impact on both the church and movements for social change in Latin America. , Explains the role of the Church in the revolution to overthrow the Somoza dictatorship in Nicaragua. Reviews events leading up to the liberation by interviewing church officials, and the popular militia, and by showing film clips of the fighting.
