Glittering temples and palaces are framed by modern architecture. Interlaced within the traffic burdened streets, is an amazingly different scene - the world of the khlongs or canals. They form a network of winding waterways that spread out for hundreds if miles and provide avenues of transportation. The khlongs are home for many thousands of people whose existence is shaped by this unique environment. We follow the life of a typical khlong family from their morning swim in the canal, their trip to a floating market, their water school bus and water festival. Their income is derived from a small farm right behind their house. The khlong people have lived there for generations. It is a preferred life style. they are not poor and lead an existence that is free from stress as compared to the hustle and bustle of the big city.
