Back in Oaksdale, Sylvester's parents were distraught by their son's mysterious disappearance and worried about him throughout the year. In the spring, with their sorrow somewhat assuaged, Mr. and Mrs. Duncan decided to have a picnic on Strawberry Hill. As fate would have it, Mr. Duncan discovered the magic stone and placed it on the rock that was now Sylvester just as the hapless donkey wistfully longed for his former self.
