Sun’s Gonna Shine

A film about Lightnin' Hopkins, his boyhood, his philosophy, his music. The only narration is a short monologue by Hopkins about leaving home at the age of eight to begin wandering from town to town singing for his living. Scenes of local life in Centerville, Texas, where Hopkins was born and reared, visually suggest his personal background. The musician sings two of his famous blues songs: The Sun's Gonna Shine, and Trying to Catch that Train.
