Street drugs are any substances bought or sold, used or abused outside a normal doctor/patient relationship. This film explains how these drugs affect both the brain and the body. It covers initial effects, withdrawal and long-term effects of each drug. Drug classifications covered in the film include: Depressants (alcohol, barbituates, sedative-hypnotics and tranquilizers); Stimulants (cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, caffeine and nicotine); Narcotics (opium, codeine, morphine, heroin, percodan, and darvon); Hallucinogens (LSD, mescaline, psilocybin, PCP, marijuana, hashish); Inhalants (organic solvents and inorganic gases); Designer Drugs (MDMA or Ecstasy, fentanyl, MPPP).
