Description: Steve's father is in the U.S. Coast Guard and is stationed at a lighthouse. Along with Steve, we have an opportunity to see the parts of the lighthouse, to learn how it is maintained, what its emergency electrical sources are, how navigators tell which lighthouse signal they are receiving, and how they use these signals to determine their position at sea. We also enjoy some of the "fringe benefits" such as watching sea lions and whales, playing on the beach, and shell collecting.
