Description: During Ben Barnes' term as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives he recorded a collection of reports in cooperation with local Austin television station, KTBC, for the purpose of keeping the public informed on the 60th Texas Legislature. In this report, Speaker Barnes responds to Governor John Connally's tax proposals to the 60th Texas Legislature. Barnes approves of several of Connally's recommendations, including: no personal income taxes, no increases on tuition, and no increases on sales taxes.
