Description: During Ben Barnes' term as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives he recorded a collection of reports in cooperation with local Austin television station, KTBC, for the purpose of keeping the public informed on the 60th Texas Legislature. In this report, Speaker Barnes comments on Governor John Conally's proposed State program to the 60th Texas Legislature Session. Barnes agrees with Governor Connally's recent program that makes Texas a more progressive state that prohibits federal "encroachment." And yet Barnes also admits there are holes in Connally's propositions, specifically, money problems that hint at yet-proposed taxes.
