Description: This home movie footage depicts various events involving a Texas family living in Madison County in 1953. The video starts out in black and white, and then transitions into color a few minutes in. Family members play bridge with a cat, and take trips on a charter bus on two different occasions. At one point, the family explore a drilling rig, observing equipment and operations. Most of the footage is of the family playing with a baby whose name is most likely Will. At the end of the film, Will learns to walk with his family on a bright sunny day. Little else is known about the film. Found by a dumpster in south Austin, it is considered an orphan film—an archival term used to describe audiovisual materials either without clear copyright holders or abandoned by their original owners.
