Focuses on Soul City, a black-controlled community in Warren County, North Carolina, being developed by Floyd McKissick. Explains that all residents of the community are participating in its growth and development. Observes that this experiment is taking place because blacks found that moving into large cities in an attempt to escape the conditions of the South did not allow them to control their own lives.
