Sons of the Desert (1933)

[Scott MacQueen] What we are looking at here is the work print of "Sons of the Desert." Which is copied from an original nitrate print and the original picture master without sound. Taking the best portions of each. So "Leo's" not roaring here because the logo was damaged in the print. So we took it off the picture master. ["Laurel & Hardy" film music]. ["Sons of the Desert" main title music]. So the work print is my guide to reconstruct the film and cut the negative once we verify that uh... that is what happens in the composite negative which has been put together from several sources and used for answer printing. The sound is, the sound is fully restored separately and a new track negative made. There, for example, we had to jump in several frames from the lavender at that point, the silent picture master, because of damage that was in the print. It was named to the National Registry in 2012 and it is one of their absolute funniest films.
