Song of the south

Presents the Travancore-Cochin area of India, with a study of its arts, architecture and industries. Tea, rubber and cashew nuts are the main exports from Travancore-Cochin, and the growing of coconuts has developed the coir industry. The natural wealth of the area has in recent years facilitated the development of secondary industries such as aluminium, cement, rayon, ceramics, and chemical manufacture.
