This footage captures scenes around Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, between 1941 and 1945. Officially opened on October 17, 1941, Sheppard is a training center for the United States Air Force (then known as the United States Army Air Corps). In addition to footage of the base from above and construction of its facilities, the film also includes military parades and presentations as well as training exercises.
