Sheet steel for a nation

Description: Describes the process of cold reduction of sheet steel as a stage in the production of galvanised, corrugated and other types of steel sheets. This process was first intoroduced in 1955 at Port Kembla in New South Wales. Shows how in the major operation, the steel strip rolls through rollers which exert tremendous pressure in reducing the steel to the required thickness.
