He’s asked what type of cross section person is attracted to Scientology? The priest replies with someone willing to reach a spiritual understanding. WS of the reporter interviewing the priest. He says the attorney general is looking into Scientology and the amount of money it’s been making. Whether the church is in fact exempt as a religion. The priest replies that any religion has to go through a period where society examines what it is. He says the Mormons went through this, the Jews went through it in England, etc. It’s a period with in the development of the religion that society goes through. He’s asked about some people finding the religion frightening, specifically the people cut off by the teachers. He speaks of ethics and similarity to Catholicism. Scientology puts a huge emphasis on responsibility. The interviewer explains that this new religion is under scrutiny from religious and government officials. Cuts to CU of various people of the church. (back to the interview) The priest gives an example and says we strive for taking responsibility instead of using control and suppression, etc.
