Shows selected projects which illustrate the extent and complexity of studies undertaken by the research branch of the Canada Dept of Agriculture. Describes research which is being carried out in the mapping, classification and management of soils, in the development of crops to suit specific locations, in the nutrition and breeding of animals and poultry and in the chemical and biological control of pests and diseases. Points out that the benefits of such research are passed on to the Canadian farmer.
