Description: Produced by the Houston-based Humble Oil and Refining Co. and Bob Bailey Productions for the United States Power Squadrons, this 1970s educational film introduces the “nautical rules of the road” governing boating navigation and right of way. The film covers the concepts of danger zone, burdened vessel, and privileged vessel, as well as appropriate horn signals and rules for sailing vessels. Formed in the mid-1930s, the Houston-based Bob Bailey Productions produced mostly industrial and educational films for area oil, natural gas, and petrochemical companies, but also made newsreels for Fox and Movietone.
