Description: The dehumanization and extermination of millions of Jews in World War II death camps are evoked in graphic and symbolic terms through the use of grainy wood block prints. Row upon row of nearly homogenized figures stand facing an authoritative Nazi officer. On his orders, they bend to the floor and rise mechanically. One figure refuses to bend and is shot. The other figures then refuse to obey, and all but one are cut down. The survivor once more begins the automatic exercise, but he too is murdered.
