Road to life (Putyovka v zhizn)

One of the earliest Russian sound films, A road to life is a dramatization of the problem of orphaned juvenile delinquents in post-war Russia. After the repressive efforts of the government failed to reform these children, a group of teachers gathered them into collective homes where they were taught cooperation through useful work and recreation. These efforts resulted in the successful socialization of the children.
