Review of the year 1950

Description: A newsreel overview of the year 1950. Main focus being the Beginning of the Korean War when North Korean troops passed the 38th Parallel on June the 25th. By the end of the year, Thousands of American, British and Australian troops where transported to Korea, lead by General Douglas MacArthur. Other events covered: Clement Attlee wins the election against Winston Churchill; a profile of the Royal Family including the birth of Princess Anne; Richard Todd wins the best screen-actor award for “The Hasty heart”; Moira Shearer signs a contract with Hampton Court; Arsenal wins the cup against Liverpool; riots in Belgium over Leopold’s return to the throne - who later abdicates; The Wilkes brothers design the world’s first turbo charged car.
