Description: Uses models, scientific experiments, and scenes of geological sites to present the theory that the outer covering of the earth is made up of plates about 40 miles thick, moving in different directions at a rate of 1 or 2 inches a year. Explains that the formation of new oceans, earthquakes, and volcanoes follows from the movement of these plates, effected by the earth's internal heat.
