Description: Tells a story about Ricardo, who gets a scolding instead of expected praise for a good report card. How could it happen. Shows Ricardo busy at school and proud of a good report card he knows will please his mother. But she is having a frustrating day - little brother is in her way, she pricks her finger, a pot boils over. So when Ricardo bursts into the kitchen and knocks over the scrub bucket, he becomes the target of an emotional tirade. The last scene shows Ricardo clutching his report card as he listens in hurt, confused astonishment. By using the empathy young viewers will have for Ricardo, teachers can help them see that people do not always.
