The classic Brothers Grimm tale is retold in this animated adaptation. As the story is spun of the child isolated in a tower by an enchantress, the borders of the scenes coruscate with symbolic forms reflecting each turn of the plot. When the prince finds Rapunzel, the witch banishes her to a remote desert, blinds the prince, and sets him to wandering the world. Finally, the prince finds Rapunzel, her tears restore his sight, and they live happily ever after. Winner of the CINE Golden Eagle 1981; Colum
