Asking where you'd gone. It fell softly from the clouds, on the silent crowds, as I wandered on. Out of doorways, black umbrellas came to pursue me. Faceless people, as they pass were looking through me. No one knew me. ["Yesterday I Heard the Rain" ends] [Woman voiceover:] Rain. It makes everything seem slower. It really doesn't matter if it rains on Monday. Getting back to the old grind, you know? Monday morning blues? ["After the Rain" by John Coltrane begins] But a rainy Thursday? [Male voiceover:] Don't people know it's gonna rain out here? Don't they know? Don't they know it's gonna to storm out here? It just gives everybody a chance to re-collect. A cool out. A chance to gather together their thoughts. [street noise] [typewriter keys] [Woman voiceover:] Typing. Rain always provokes a change. Even the raging storm will pass. But only if the rain it brings cleanses the atmosphere of elements detrimental to the human mind, and to all of nature.
